Dr. Dave is an Naturopathic Medical Doctor (NMD) who did his undergraduate work at Albertus Magnus College in New Haven Connecticut where he received a BA in Biological Science specializing in comparative anatomy.  Dr. Dave then achieved his doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine.  Dr. Dave then spend 10 years in private practice specializing in counseling , endocrinology, immunology, chronic fatigue syndrome and the environmental triggers that could cause these issues to present in the body.  All the while Dr. Dave’s core focus was to always find the root cause that is making the body display its specific symptoms.  Find and treat the root cause, the symptoms resolve and the body goes back into a balance.  It was in that time that Dr. Dave started to see patterns emerging. There were some that were doing great, while others whom should have been seeing their symptom resolving were just not, despite the level of their commitment or their faith.

There is a Proverb that research in the field of Neurocardiology is proving to be correct:  "A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones." There are neural pathways that connect the brain to the heart that enable our hearts to really be our emotional centers.  Further research has shown the heart to be the source of our intuition and wisdom, as well as the governor of our emotions.  When we are of a pure and happy heart, systems that our heart controls keep our hormones, immune systems, and nervous systems in balance.  This balance keeps us sharp and healthy, and we even see a slowing of the aging process.  Most importantly, we are happy.

When the heart gets repeatedly wounded emotionally, it hardens and shuts down.  When this happens our nervous systems go out of balance. Over time, this nervous system imbalance can affect the balance of our hormones and the effectiveness of our immune systems. When our nervous systems go out of balance with no input from the heart, we see our emotions become hard to control and all-consuming stress overcomes us.  Our wisdom and intuition becomes confused. We see our faith, hope, and joy lose endurance and become cerebral exercises without feeling, passion, or fruit.  Over time, this cycle of imbalance and stress becomes a new normal, a learned or programmed response put into the nervous system itself that leads our bodies to imbalance and disease.  This imbalance can turn our relationships into feelingless acquaintanceships, and our calling to a shadowy silhouette on the horizon we have convinced ourselves we can never get to.

It really does all start with the heart.  The heart is the center of our being when we see issues in our health, our relationships, or our jobs that we seem to be stuck, there is a deeper issue of the heart.  I have seen countless instances in which negative emotions such as unforgiveness, offence, or anger to name a few, have caused deep such wounds of the heart that no level of medical testing or counseling could reveal what was wrong. Once the focus was put on the heart, as the Bible says, resources to heal spring forth and the health and life issues resolve as the symptoms they were.
